    The 1988-1992 edition of HOOKED ON PHONICS "Hooked on Math" prorgam has three different copywright dates, but is the same program and all of its parts are interchangeable. The packaging for all editions was the plastic "bi-fold" case shown above.

Buying Guide

 

When shopping for a used 1988-1992 edition of Hooked on Phonics "Hooked on Math", pay particular attention to making sure that the beginning portions of the program are present. Many used programs sold on eBay and other sites are missing the beginning parts of the prorgam (level 1).

Audio-cassettes:

Check for missing blue or red audio-cassettes. There should be 8 audio-cassettes, marked with the year "1991" or no date (1988).

Flash Cards:

Many used prorgams are missing the blue addition and /or the red subtraction cards. 

Workbooks:

The blue/red book, #1, is often written in or more used than the other books. Most often, the writing consists of numbers circled with pencil. The writing is not as bad as missing parts, so don't let that keep you buying an inexpensive prorgam. Ask questions of the seller.

The plastic cases for this edition are very fragile. Most are cracked or have broken hinges. I wouldn't worry to much about the condition of the case and focus on finding a COMPLETE program.
